Before You Request
What to do before we arrive
If water is still running, the first priority is the shutoff, not the phone call. Most Jacksonville homes have a main shutoff where the supply enters the building or at the meter near the street; water heaters, toilets, and most sinks have their own local valve. Closing the nearest valve you can reach does more for the final repair bill than anything else in the first ten minutes.
After the source is stopped, cut power to the affected area at the breaker if water is anywhere near outlets, cords, or panels — and do not enter standing water to reach a panel. Lift what you can: rugs off wet flooring, furniture legs onto blocks or foil, electronics and paper up off the floor. Photograph everything before you move it, because that is the record an adjuster will want later.
What we ask on the first call
Four questions shape the response, and rough answers are fine. Where is the water and how far has it spread? When did you first notice it? Is the source stopped? Is the water clean, gray, or sewage — meaning is it from a supply line, an appliance discharge, or a drain or toilet backup?
The contamination category is the one that changes the plan most. Clean-water losses are often dried in place with materials saved. Sewage and drain-line water is a containment and removal job with different equipment, different protective gear, and different rules about what can stay. Telling us that up front means the right truck arrives.
Emergencies
Call rather than submit the form. Active water is dispatched by phone, day or night.
Estimates and questions
The form is the better route for contained leaks, mold questions, insurance documentation, and rebuild scopes.
What happens after you submit the form
Form submissions land as an email to our team and are answered in the order received. Describe the property type, the affected rooms, when the loss started, and whether an insurance claim is open. If you have photos of the source and the affected area, mention it and we will ask for them in reply.
You will get a person, not an automated quote. Water damage cannot be priced accurately from a description, so the reply either schedules an assessment or answers your question directly if that is all it needs. Where we can tell you that you do not need us — an old stain that is historic and dry, a condensation problem that is really an HVAC service call — we say so.
Insurance and documentation
Most water losses run through a homeowners policy, and the recordkeeping is the same either way: daily moisture readings on fixed points, photographs before and during, an itemized scope by room and material, and equipment logs. We keep that record on every job and hand it over whether or not a claim is filed.
We do not decide coverage, and no contractor can promise a claim outcome. What we can do is document the loss the way adjusters ask for it, tell you plainly when damage looks like a flood claim rather than a homeowners claim, and give you a scope specific enough to compare against whatever the carrier authorizes.

FAQ
Estimate Request Questions
What should I have ready when I call?
- Where the water is, when you first noticed it, whether the source is stopped, and whether the water is clean, gray, or sewage. Photos help but are not required to get a crew moving.
Can I email instead of calling?
- For non-emergencies, yes — info@waterdamagerestorationjacksonvillefl.com or the form on this page. If water is actively in the building, call so we can dispatch immediately.
